PCI continues to grow its IT business

With the acquisition of Rosenboom, PCI expands its growing IT business

PCI has taken a new step as a specialist in the IT sector. This month the IT activities of Rosenboom in Almere were acquired. According to CEO Bas Kamphuis, the acquisition fits in completely within his strategy to further develop PCI via IT as a partner for entrepreneurs. “The Rosenboom team consists of experienced professionals who have a passion for the profession. Within PCI they can further shape their passion and are a valuable addition.”

PCI has achieved rapid growth as an IT service provider in recent years. In addition to the existing services in the field of audiovisual and office equipment, IT is the spearhead of the company's strategy. PCI helps organizations with their IT infrastructure and looks at the complete office environment from there.

Hold your breath

The acquisition of Rosenboom's IT activities is PCI's first since the corona pandemic. “Like many other companies, PCI has taken a breather and in a way it worked out well. In recent years, the IT Solutions division has grown rapidly, mainly through acquisitions, to around 130 employees. We have used the past period to properly complete the various integrations, resulting in a stronger, cohesive organization.” Because PCI continued to perform well despite the pandemic, Kamphuis was open to a new acquisition. “The Rosenboom team may not be that big, but it is of a high quality. With this team we are strengthening our services, both in breadth and depth.”

Ensure quality

Director Marcel van Eekhout of Rosenboom indicates that it was quality that prompted him to join PCI. “The rapid developments within IT place demands on the effort to keep up. The motivation of our people for this was and is great, but at a certain point it would be too much to ask within Rosenboom. By joining PCI, we guarantee the professional level, both for our employees and for our customers. The acquisition offers everyone more perspective for the long term.”

More acquisitions?

When asked about his buy & build plans for 2022, Kamphuis indicated that PCI is conducting a number of cautious talks with acquisition candidates. “We may already be taking steps in 2022 to further expand our IT activities through acquisition, but we will also simply grow organically. The organization is in order and our customer portfolio is also welcome.”
